Central Colorado AHEC has partnered with the Community College of Denver to launch an enhanced version of the Health Careers Pre-Apprenticeship Program. Subject matter experts from CCAHEC and CCD are working in tandem to deliver a training program designed to provide a jump-start to those considering a healthcare career. This unique program provides individualized coaching, personality and learning style assessments, career pathway exploration, essential skills training, contextual learning experiences, and a variety of certifications to enable participants to be successful in a health career. Additionally, students will earn college credit through prior learning assessments and will receive an EKG Technician certification through the National Healthcareer Association.

We meet Anastasia, a young mother who attended the Central Colorado Area Health Education Center's Healthcare Pre-Apprenticeship Program which taught her about the expansive opportunities in the Health Care Field. Anastasia completed the program and can now take care of family with her new job at Swedish Medical Center.
